Thank you so much for stopping by my blog - even if by accident. My name is Jeff and my passion is photographing people.
My hope is that you see both the heart and art in the images you see on this site. Please feel free to drop me a line and say hi or tell me that you totally disagree with something I wrote! If I simply made you think about something, then all the better.

Not to say that Jennifer was jumping the gun a bit, but when I met with her during our initial consultation, the man she wanted to devote the rest of her life to was nowhere to be found. Okay, that’s not entirely true. Okay it’s not really true at all but it’s not like he was working late across town either. Oh no, Anthony was more than 7,500 miles away in Australia waiting for his US Visa to arrive 3 weeks later.
Luckily on the 8th of December Anthony did in fact land at LAX and all was right in the world for both Jennifer & Anthony. So right in fact that the very next Sunday we headed down to the San Juan Capistrano Mission in Orange County and had a great time capturing their E-Session. If you’ve never been there, the Mission is truly a must-see. It’s like stepping back in time with its authentic architecture, rustic structures and immaculate grounds.
Jennifer and Anthony don’t look too shabby either huh?!!!
I have photographed my friends Christiné and Tom’s family for 3 years now and I’ve loved it because each subsequent year, there’s a new member to their family. This year Christiné says that’s it … they’re done adding to the family tree. Well, we’ll see!!
First there was Erik & Jackie.
Erik just loves it when I make him do things like this.
Then came Saige and finally Alex. Hmm, I must have cropped sweet Saige’s halo out which was surely right above her head.
Now, I know I have a fairly busy schedule, but when Saige had to hold up the whole shoot just to text her manager, I found out who the real boss was on this shoot!!
Okay this lasted about 3 seconds, but I think we got a keeper.
Christiné and Tom share some quality time.
While we did get some others with little Alex looking “perfect”, I just LOVE the expression on his face in this one. That tells you exactly what he thought of my flash going off in his face!
The wedding slideshow below was not shot by me but by Romain Blanquart of the Detroit Free Press. I thought this was just so moving and wanted to share this story. Amazing images and amazing couple.
At first, you might think this is a very sad story. As I reflected on it more, I really feel that it’s a story about true love, courage, perseverance and another reminder that it’s not about how long we’re here, but what we do with our time while we’re here.
Okay, I know I’ve totally been slacking on the blog updates lateley. I’ve been totally immersed in Hi Res video capture for the last month or so and I must say, I’ve been having an absolute blast. I attended the Collision Conference in August at the LA Film School in Hollywood and it was so awesome to see video collide with stills and the new “art” to come about through this emerging technology.
I realize we’ve had HD video for some time and 21 megapixel cameras for some time but it’s all starting to collide in new ways. Ways that incorporate both technologies in one communication piece.
Well, after attending the conference I was inspired to try a little “Living Art” myself. The Art that you see below is a 16 second video of Natalie that is part still photo and part video at the same time. My friend Jeb was shooting Natalie for her Sr. Portraits in Sedona and invited me to tag along. I snuck in a grabbed some stills and video when and where I could. See what you think.
Wow, what a great Memorial Day weekend Karen and I had. We spent that Sunday at the Richard Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, California photographing the amazingly gorgeous wedding of Rashmee & Ashwin who live in Chicago. I find the traditions and rituals of an authentic Indian Hindu wedding are not only fascinating to witness but also so spiritual and inherently sacred.
I loved how their officiant mentioned the length of traditional Indian ceremonies lasting 4 hours … 3 hours … sometimes 2 hours and on rare occasions like Rashmee & Ashwin “a quickie at 1 hour 45 minutes”. We all had a great laugh at that.
I tell you what, thanks to Ashley Powell and her AWESOME team at Agape Planning, absolutely everything was on time and totally organized. There is a lot to organize at any wedding but I think authentic Indian wedding ceremonies have a lot more details than many traditional American ceremonies and Ashley was on top of everything!
Another huge part of the success of this wedding was how absolutely warm and genuine both Rashmee & Ashwin are. The first time I met them face to face was their wedding day and I instantly felt like I’ve known them for months or even longer. I could hardly get Rashmee to not smile for a photo or two and it’s easy to see why as she looked in the eyes of Ashwin who would constantly make her laugh out loud. How cool is that?
The authentic Indian cuisine provided by White House Catering was absolutely awesome too! I loved every bit of it. I so wanted to go back and get seconds but I had to go back to work as the events never stop at these affairs. I LOVE that!
Rashmee & Ashwin, you two are perfect for each other and I wish you both absolute joy, happiness and abundant love for all eternity. Oh, and I totally want to shoot your babies when they come along too!!
Here’s a little taste of their 1100+ image collection from their wedding day.
admin - Thanks Brad. Yes, the color was AMAZING throughout the whole day. Rashmee wore 3 different dresses that day and all were gorgeous.July 18, 2009 - 12:19 pm

As I mentioned, I’m still catching up on editing some recent weddings. We were fortunate enough to document Teresa and Brad’s wedding at The Wright House in May. It was a gorgeous day – a little warm, but by the time the sun went down and the ceremony started it was perfect. All the trees and lush landscape at The Wright House provided for plenty of shade.
Brad is a private chef who’s always able to keep Teresa laughing whenever they’re together. As you can see in many of these images, Brad is always so serious.
This is perhaps my favorite image of the day. As Teresa heads out the door to her procession, she pauses for just a split second. A lifetime of dreaming, a year of planning, a month of details, a day of celebration all down to a brief moment of reflection.
Check out this cake you guys!! It’s another GORGEOUS creation by Julia at Julia Baker Confections. It was the talk of the night, well not as much as Teresa & Brad were but VERY close.
